Open-air instalation

wood, fabric, rope

ABOUT

A large-scale site-specific installation created for an open-air series of events in the Shamakhi forest throughout the summer of 2022.

Constructed from wooden branches, deadstock fabric, and rope, the work transforms the imagery of a maritime vessel into an immersive structure within the forest. Individually cut pieces of fabric are stretched, layered, and tied onto an organic skeletal framework, creating a fragmented surface reminiscent of sails, flags, and torn remnants of a vessel. Rope connects and binds the different elements, reinforcing the handmade and improvised character of the structure.

Its raw materials and irregular construction allow it to merge with its natural surroundings and feel like a shelter.
